Full Suspension
Mountain Bikes
At Westbrook Cycles, we stock and supply an excellent range of full suspension mountain bikes - which we have sourced from the world’s leading mountain bike brands, such as Scott, Cannondale and Giant.
Full Suspension MTB’s feature front suspension in the way of suspension forks, as well as rear suspension - in the form of a suspension shock or a coil. The dual suspension found on a full suspension bike, means that a comfier ride is provided - and full suspension mountain bikes cross off road terrain with ease, making light work of typical off road terrain such as bumps, drops, roots, rocks and uneven surfaces. As well as being comfortable to ride off-road, full suspension bikes also allow challenging terrain to be tackled, with steep, technical descents being made possible.
There are also a number of different types and versions of full suspension mountain bikes, which are suited to different styles of off-road riding. Although there are many different types of mountain bike geometry available, the main split is between downhill bias trail mountain bikes, which are designed to tackle tough, downhill terrain - across to enduro mountain bikes which have been designed to cover all terrain - from ascents, descents and flat sections.
Downhill Mountain Bikes have a geometry designed for maximum speed and attack angles for smashing downhill trails, with long travel suspension which has been designed to soak up any drops, bumps and obstacles on the way. Enduro Mountain Bikes have less suspension travel, and a geometry which is designed to provide do-it-all capability, at home across the full range of off road, they have been designed with cross country speed in mind.
Full Suspension Bikes do require more maintenance, and are more expensive to purchase than hardtail mountain bikes. The performance that they provide off road, makes the extra budget allowance worthwhile, if it is available. For this reason, many of our customers choose flexible finance options when purchasing their full suspension mountain bike. Although it can be tempting to have a smaller budget when looking for a full suspension mountain bike, a cheap full suspension MTB will use inferior components and provide a poor and often dangerous performance off road. All of the full suspension mountain bikes that we supply, use the very best materials and designs, including carbon fibre and alloy parts and frames.
