Although it’s not a legal requirement to have a helmet mounted light, like it is to have a fixed front and rear light on your bike - a helmet mounted bike light is a great way to add extra light, vision and safety to each ride. One of the main benefits from having a helmet mounted light, is that the light is mounted higher than the bike - so the light sits above traffic, allowing for motorists to get a better view of you and the bike. It’s also easier to gesture to road users with a helmet mounted light - allowing for more attention to be paid to you. An added benefit of carrying an extra light with you, is that it can act as a backup in case a light on your bike fails.
