Proper removal and installation of a bottom bracket requires the use of the correct bottom bracket tool. Fitting the BB without the correct tool can result in misalignment, which can result in creaking, or can even damage the frame. A pressfit BB should be removed with a pressfit removal bottom bracket tool and installed with a press. Threaded BBs are either external bearing or internal and require a specific bottom bracket tool to fit them both.
