TRP

For those who don’t know, TRP is the more performance orientated side of Tektro components. The TRP catalogue is mainly focussed on braking and covers everything from budget brakes, to high end hydraulic disc brakes.

The TRP Spyre brakes are a cable operated disc brake intended for use on the road and can be fitted with standard road cable actuated levers. A slightly better option for road bikes with cable actuated levers is the TRP Hy/Rd brakes. Although they use the existing brake cable from the lever, they have an open hydraulic system to allow you to gain many of the benefits of a hydraulic brake without the cost of a new lever.

TRP Hylex brakes are a popular choice for drop-bar single-speed bike riders as they offer a full hydraulic system without a shifter built into the lever.
