Crank Removal
Tools
A crank removal tool, sometimes just referred to as a crank tool, is often required to properly remove the cranks from a bike. The specific tool required differs depending on the interface (and usually manufacturer) of the cranks. Some brands such as RaceFace uses a cotterless crank remover which has an outer portion that screws into threads on the crank, and an inner portion that then winds in, prising the crank from the spindle. Some other manufacturers such as Cannondale use their own crank tool, and some cranks are fitted with a self-extracting bolt which negates the need for a dedicated crank removal tool. It is important that you get the correct crank tool for your needs, so if you aren't sure which one you need, please get in touch and our staff will be happy to help.
