Whyte Bikes Range

Whyte bikes have been around for over 22 years making innovative bikes from their home here in the UK. Originally a manufacturer of mountain bikes exclusively, Whyte now produce a full range of bikes including e-bikes, gravel bikes and commuter bikes. Anyone looking at a Whyte bike knows that they are looking at quality; a bike that can stand up to the elements and terrain equally well.

Whyte mountain bikes have a reputation for excellence, frequently coming out of reviews at the top of their class. In the real world, customers who ride a Whyte mountain bike all speak highly of the ride quality they offer, often saying they are far more capable than the amount of travel they have would imply.

T-140 S 29er

The T-140 is a full suspension mountain bike that is designed to be as versatile as possible, allowing riders to munch miles as easily as if they were on a hardtail mountain bike, but having the descending capabilities of an enduro bike.

Although the trend for manufacturers is to create carbon fibre mountain bikes, the T-140 uses an Alloy frame. This allows Whyte to keep the cost down in production, meaning the bike can be fitted with better components at the same prices as competitors. As the frame is built from 6061 Aluminium, the overall weight is still low, leading to a playful, responsive ride.

The T-140 gets its name from being a trail orientated mountain bike with 140mm of front travel. The trail focussed geometry works perfectly with this travel length to result in a bike that is capable of taking the hits, while allowing the rider to sprint when necessary and not wallow like some longer travel bikes do.

E-160 RSX 29er

Whyte E Bikes are all known for their performance and quality, and the E-160 RSX is no exception. If you are looking for a Whyte E bike, the E-160 could be the perfect match, providing an ultra capable 160mm travel platform. This travel length is more than able to deal with the majority of terrain a rider can throw at it, but is still short enough to be nimble and responsive as well as being easy to pedal.

Whyte electric bikes use Bosch electronics for the mountain bikes and Shimano electronics for the hybrid bikes. The E-160 RSX is equipped with a 750Wh battery, giving you all the range you need, without the need for an extender. The power is delivered by an 85Nm Performance Line CX motor which is positioned low down in the bike's frame to produce a low centre of gravity.

The E-160 RSX was designed by two-time British Enduro Series champion, Sam Shucksmith. This design knowledge, alongside burly Fox 38 forks, and a wheelset by Hope Technology, makes for a pretty bombproof build.

Friston

Gravel bikes are going from strength to strength with many riders starting to really see their potential. Much more than just "an old school mountain bike", these gravel bikes are giving roadies the ability to take to the railways and firetracks instead of being confined to the tarmac, and letting MTBers rip up the trails and forests without relying on suspension and big tyres.

If you are looking for a Whyte gravel bike, you have a few options. The mid-range gravel offering comes in the form of the Friston; a long, slack, fun inspired bike with disc brakes, big volume tyres and a dropper post. There a plenty of bottle cage mounts on the carbon forks if you wanted to push the boundaries further, as well as various mounts on the frame for bags.

E-180 Works MX

The flagship Whyte electric bike is the E-180 Works MX. This "Super Enduro" bike really can tackle absolutely anything you dare to ride down, as fast as you dare ride it. As with the rest of the Whyte E mountain bike range, the power is provided by Bosch to get you back to the top effortlessly so you can hit the next descent.

180mm of front travel is provided by the ultra-plush RockShox Zeb forks, while the 170mm of rear travel is dealt with by a Super Deluxe Ultimate RCT rear shock. A sturdy Hope Fortus wheelset with Maxxis Assegai tyres get you up to speed, while Sram Code RSC brakes produce the stopping power.

Whyte Spares

At Westbrook Cycles we try to make sure we have as many spares as possible available for all of the bikes we sell. For brands like Bergamont, Cannondale, Giant and Scott we have a dedicated parts finder to help customers find the parts they are looking for. For manufacturers that aren't in our parts finder, we still stock a huge array of parts and spares to keep you riding and minimise time off the bike due to mechanicals.
