Introducing The 2025 Orbea Rise

In 2020 the Orbea Rise made waves in the eMTB market, bringing the idea that an ebike could be light and playful, just like a normal mountain bike. Seamless integration of the battery and motor helped create a machine that looked much more like a traditional MTB, rather than the bulky looking e-bikes riders had become accustomed to. The original Rise set the bar, and Orbea haven’t slowed down since.

The 2025 Orbea Rise has been in development since the success of the 2020 model, building on the reputation it rightly earned. Motor and battery systems have been further developed to provide a more natural feeling power delivery at a lighter weight, and the frame construction has been tweaked and further optimised. The result is an eMTB that remains light but adds new levels of fun, speed, and functionality.

Taking obvious design cues from the new Orbea Occam range, the 2025 Rise introduces a redesigned frame that is not only stiffer but features updated geometry and increased travel, making the bike more capable than ever and increasingly suitable for steeper, more technical terrain. Power is provided by Shimano's light and powerful EP motor systems, which can be tuned via Orbea's RS firmware to provide different levels of torque, and different riding experiences. In RS+ mode the system can output a huge 85Nm of maximum torque, which can be adjusted to 54Nm, in RS mode. Both of these modes offer enough assistances for the majority of situations, with the RS mode feeling like a more natural power delivery and the RS+ mode offering maximum power for hitting climbs as hard as you like. This motor system is paired to a battery which has best in class range, in two different capacities; 420Wh and 630Wh. Both of these platforms are compatible with a 210Wh range extender that weighs as little as 1.1kg/2.4lbs.
