E-MTB Tyres are one of the biggest areas of growth in the mountain bike tyre market. In recent years, electric mountain bikes have become more capable than ever, heavier than ever and more powerful than ever - meaning that many standard mountain bike tyres now struggle to keep up with the increased demands, being pushed past their previous normal limits.

Although the tread patterns of electric mtb tyres are incredibly similar to those of normal mountain bike tyres - they have been designed with different compounds and different designs of sidewall protection, to cope with extra torque and weight. Schwalbe was the first tyre manufacturer to offer dedicated e-mtb tyres - using two additional layers of fabric - which is a new layer from bead to bead as well as another layer under the tread of the tyre - to provide increased protection, as well as increased stability.
