A crucial addition to this axle, which comes in a choice of lengths to fit standard or Boost forks and will also fit Fat Bike Forks, is a captive steel washer under the head. This takes on the triple role of keeping the axle from sticking, ensuring the clamping load will take on more of the tightening torque, thereby stiffening the whole interface, and protecting the fork from wear.
Should you wish to purchase and carry a Wolf Tooth Axle Handle Multi-Tool to go with it, to let you conduct quick roadside fixes, it’s compatible and can be easily connected using an O-ring inside the axle head.
