Brake
Fluid
There are two types of brake fluid used on bicycles, such as road bikes and mountain bikes. The first type is mineral oil, and the second type is DOT Fluid. The two types are not interchangeable, and you should only use the fluid that your braking system was designed to use. Mineral oil is non toxic, and does not absorb water as quickly as Dot oil - but dot oil provides a more powerful contact point and is less susceptible to changes in temperature.
