Scott Aspect 950 Review & Specifications

At Westbrook Cycles, we are massive fans of Scott Hardtail Mountain Bikes. We find that they provide the perfect balance of efficient performance across a wide variety of terrain, alongside plenty of singletrack capability - which sees these bikes become go anywhere mountain bikes, especially for those up for a challenge.

The Aspect range is a big part of Scott’s hardtail offering, and the Aspect range has been designed to provide a lightweight, efficient performance which is available at a sensible price point. The Aspect range sits perfectly within the band of mid-range hardtail mountain bikes - and there’s plenty of trickle down performance within the Aspect range from Scott’s elite level hardtail bikes.

The Scott Aspect 950 is available for just £549, representing excellent value for money and the perfect way to get onto a Scott Hardtail. It’s available in both 27.5 and 29 wheel size, and it has plenty of technology and decent level components to make each ride go smoothly. It has an alloy frame, and the Suntour 100mm travel suspension fork has a lockout feature for increased efficiency. Gearing is provided by a Shimano Altus RD-M2000, which provides crisp and reliable gear changes across all terrain, and all gradients.

The Aspect 950 also has Tektro Hydraulic Disc Brakes, which provide excellent stopping power - regardless of weather and terrain conditions. Overall, the Aspect 950 is an excellent value hardtail mountain bike, and it’s the perfect way to get into the Scott brand. In the real world, the 950 is at home almost anywhere - it can handle all kinds of terrain, equally - the design of the bike also means it’s at home on the daily commute.
