Moterra Neo 3+ Review
At Westbrook Cycles, we are massive fans of the Cannondale Bike Range - we have been selling a huge amount of Cannondale Gravel Bikes, alongside their range of mountain bikes. At the premium and most capable side of their mountain bike range, sits the Cannondale Moterra collection. The Moterra is available in Carbon 1, Carbon SE, Carbon 2, Carbon 3+, Neo 4 and Neo 5. In this post, we look at the Moterra Neo 3+ in greater detail, regardless of whatever Moterra model you choose - you can expect a big, hard hitting electric full suspension mountain bike that delivers performance in huge amounts, the bike feels quick, agile and snappy. The Moterra range makes you a better rider, wherever and whatever you ride.
The Moterra Neo 3+ is an important part of the Moterra range, providing fantastic levels of handling and performance. The Neo 3+ has been designed with a low centre of gravity in mind, giving it a fantastic aggressive appearance, as well as excellent handling. Style wise, Cannondale have worked hard to house the incredibly powerful Bosch Performance CX unit as well as its long lasting Power Tube battery into the frame of the bike. The frame is burly and big, and suits this bike perfectly.
Some of the technologies deployed on this bike are incredible. Starting with the Bosch drive and power unit - which provides 625Wh of power - making this the most powerful system that Bosch produces. The combination provides plenty of power, and plenty of range - great for all day rides. The bike also has an Ai offset drivetrain, which provides greater clearance at the rear triangle, which provides a short chainstay for excellent mobility, as well as a larger rear triangle providing more tyre clearance for when things get grizzly.
Cannondale has also developed a technology called proportional response, this system uses size specific centre of gravity data, meaning that each and every rider - is able to enjoy and experience braking, climbing and descents tailored to their exact size and weight. The rear shock also has proportional response suspension design, which means that each different size of frame gets different sized shock links and pivot locations, to ensure that each frame size is optimised for maximum performance.
This bike is not just about advanced technologies, it’s also about toughness - a carbon fibre frame keeps this bike as light as possible, but it’s not designed to be light & weak. The frame comes with a confidence inspiring lifetime warranty. On the subject of toughness, the bike is fitted with a skid plate and a sealed battery cover to protect the electric components from the weather, terrain conditions as well as knocks and bangs. Another great detail is the ability to mount a water bottle cage on the front triangle!
