Mountain Bike Frames

At Westbrook Cycles, we stock and supply an excellent selection of aluminium mountain bike frames - encompassing both full suspension alloy frames and alloy hardtail frames. Although we sometimes call bikes aluminium framed, mountain bikes are almost always an alloy mix - containing up to and around 95-98% aluminium. 

These alloy mixes have been improved upon and improved upon - and offer a great alternative to carbon fibre mountain bike frames for most riders. More comfortable than ever, alloy mountain bike frames provide and lightweight performance, allowing for riders to make good progress across varying terrain. Aluminium is also a tough choice of material for a mountain bike frame, and if a frame sustains damage which cannot be repaired - then a replacement aluminium bike frame costs do not spiral too much out of control. 

The robustness of an aluminium downhill bike frame is important - especially in a sport where taking a tumble can be a relatively frequent occurrence. One of the last benefits of an aluminium mountain bike frame, is the cost - alloy frames are much cheaper than carbon frames, for often negligible differences in real world performance for recreational riders.
