Scott Addict RC 10 Review

There are few greater all-around road bikes than the Scott Addict RC 10. It’s a bike which is designed to be a low-weight race bike, with strong levels of aerodynamic performance. The latest version of this bike is more understated than in previous years, but it offers incredible performance levels. The addict is a bike which has won the Tour de France - piloted in 2010 by Cavendish, enhancing this bike's reputation as a race focussed race-winning machine.

Enhanced by the RC specification launched back in 2019, the Addict no longer has to be an ultra-lightweight race only machine. The RC specification has added disc brakes, wider tyres, aerofoil tubes, dropped seat stays, and internal cable routing. The bike remains lightweight, and it’s more efficient than ever - although there have been lighter Addicts in the past - the Addict series has never been as fast as it is today.

On the bike - the handling feels sharp and quick to respond to the rider's commands. Stand on the pedals, and you can expect to see the bike rocket forward, efficiently putting that energy to use. It’s not difficult to ride, though, and the bike deals with rougher roads well. It’s compliant enough to flatter the rider, inspiring confidence and allowing the rider to push on, maximising performance.

Specification-wise, SRAM Force Etap AXS groupsets work very well; there’s also a high amount of adjustability - split headset spacers mean that the handlebar stack height can be adjusted. There’s a Syncros Duncan 1.0 Aero Seatpost - which adds good compliance to the handling and performance eof the bike, especially with the comfortable saddle.

As standard, the bike includes an SRAM Force AXS power meter - which helps the useability of the bike no end. Syncros hubs use 24 straight aero spokes on both the front and rear wheels of the bike, and these work with tubeless-ready carbon rims.
