Pinarello Nytro E Lightweight E-Road Bike Review
Pinarello claim that the Nytro stable of bikes includes the world's lightest electric bike - weighing in at just 11.4kg. It's a bold claim, amongst many claims across the world of electric bikes. The Nytro family of bikes look just like a normal road bike, with the TQ-HPR50 motor providing strong levels of assistance. In the worlds of Pinarello, these e-bikes have been "designed without comprimise to perform just like traditional road bikes".
At the heart of this bike is the fantastic TQ-HPR50 motor - which weighs just 3.9kg including the internal battery - it provides assistance up to 300W and 50Nm of torque. Having ridden this bike, we believe this power output strikes the balance perfectly for this bike, keeping the rider engaged and pushing hard - but also allowing the rider to feel like they have fresh legs on even the hardest of climbs. The range of the assistance is good, with 100km claimed and up to 140km if spec’d with the battery range extender - the lightweight design of the bike, means it’s not too much hardship to ride without the electric assistance, the only difference is that the bike feels heavier, but at 11.4kg in total - it’s not too bad.
Although the design of the Pinarello range tends to split opinions - in our opinion, the design of this bike is just right, and the slick and simple display and single button control on the top tube of the bike, suits this bike perfectly. Alongside the motor, other features for the bike include a carbon aero frame, aero fork flaps, dropped seatstays and two bottle cage mounts. The cabling as you would expect is completely internal, providing options for both mechanical or electronic groupsets.
There’s two different options available, the Nytro E-Road and the Nytro E-Gravel - both of which have different geometry. The symmetric Nytro ERoad has a Road onda fork, with room for 32mm tyres. The gravel version of the bike has a different gravel specific onda fork, and greater tyre clearance, allowing tyres up to 700x50mm. The gravel bike also has rear rack mounts as well as tabs for fenders.
Both versions of the Nytro are available to order online from our site.
