Orbea Onna Range And Review
One of our most cost-effective ranges of mountain bikes at Westbrook Cycles is the beginner mountain bike. We want to stress that it’s the entry-level bikes of the world’s leading bike brands that offer the best value for money. These bikes often incorporate high-end technology and designs that have been adapted from the top-tier mountain bikes, which are the epitome of the brands' offerings.
The Orbea Onna range is one of the best examples of an entry-level mountain bike range from a leading manufacturer. The Onna range has been designed to provide the perfect MTB experience for mountain bike riders becoming increasingly passionate about the sport. The Onna is pitched not only at newer riders because of its fantastic price point but also because of how it rides and is designed. The geometry of the bike concentrates on allowing riders to have fun on the bike, and the design of the bike is backed up with high-quality, modern components, as well as a lifetime warranty on the frame of the bike.
The Onna is also unique because it has been designed from the ground up for the beginner mountain bike. It brings together all the standards and has plenty of modern features rarely found on bikes at this price point.
As expected with a beginner mountain bike, the frames are made from hydroformed alumnium. There’s plenty of sizes available to order too, with the smallest XS frames coming with 650b wheels, the S getting a choice between 650lb wheels and 29 wheels and the large frame sizes all having 29 inch wheels. Orbea has chosen different wheel sizes for different frame sizes, to aid the rider in getting the most out of the bike, balancing performance and handling right throughout the range.
One of the premium and modern features that this bike has, is internal cable routing and the frame can also accommodate a dropper post, which is great for riders wanting to keep this bike as they progress in their riding ability and begin to look for mountain bike upgrades.
The bike can also be used as a commuter bike, there’s a place on the frame for racks, and there’s also a mount which is for a kickstand.
Across the range, the Onna hasa 68.5 head tube angle, a 74/5 seat tube angle, the 650lb bikes have a 430mm chainstay, and the 29ers get a 440mm chainstay. There’s also an Onna Junior bike available.
Six bikes are within the Onna range, including the kids' bike. The Onna 10 has a Rockshox Judy Silver TK fork, 100m of travel, and a Shimano Deore drivetrain. Further down the range is the Onna 50, which has an SR Suntour XCE 28 coil fork, which also provides 100mm of travel, and a Shimano Tourney 2x8 drivetrain.
