The Penmachno Trail is a 19-kilometer mountain biking route located in the Conwy Valley. The trail is known for its challenging climbs and exhilarating descents, set amidst a stunning landscape. The trail is mostly singletrack, and it caters to intermediate to advanced cyclists. The trail has been designed to offer a range of challenges, including rocky sections, technical ascents and descents, and narrow bridges. It’s a trail that we recommend doing on a full suspension mountain bike, but can be ridden on a hardtail mountain bike.
Coed Y Brenin Forest Park
Coed y Brenin Forest Park is one of the UK's top mountain biking destinations. The park is home to over 50 kilometers of trails that cater to all abilities, from kids and novices to seasoned cyclists. The park's trails are famous for their thrilling descents and scenic views. Additionally, Coed y Brenin is home to several cycling events throughout the year, including Rhyd Ddu and the British Mountain Bike Championships. This is a world class route, which can suit the most advanced mountain bikers, riding the very best in enduro and full suspension bikes.
Lôn Eifion Trail
The Lôn Eifion Trail is a 20-kilometre cycle path that runs along the coast of Snowdonia. The trail starts in Caernarfon and ends in Bryncir, passing through some breathtaking scenery along the way. The Lôn Eifion Trail is a family-friendly route with an almost entirely dedicated cycle path, so it’s definitely one to pack the kids bikes for. The trail passes through some beautiful Welsh villages and offers stunning views of Snowdonia and the coast.
The Mawddach Trail
The Mawddach Trail is a 16-kilometer-long cycle route that follows the Mawddach Estuary from Dolgellau to Barmouth. The trail is traffic-free, making it perfect for families and leisure cyclists.
