2024 Giant Revolt Advanced Range And Technology

The first Revolt from Giant was introduced around a decade ago, and we remember the time of its introduction.

The popularity of gravel bikes was in its infancy, and the Revolt landed on the scene and made a wild first impression. For the first time, gravel riders no longer had to balance, compromise, and modify cyclocross bikes or road bikes to create a gravel machine.

Even back in 2013, the Revolt had a sloping top tube, dropped seat stays, disc brakes and a slimline carbon Seatpost for comfort - all incredibly innovative at the time, and many of these designs and ideas were later adopted by other bike brands.

The Revolt range continues to pave the way for other gravel bikes today. Whether you are competing on your Revolt on the world stage or riding recreationally - there’s the right 2024 Giant Revolt Gravel Bike for you.

Below, we discuss some of the most important technologies and developments that make the Revolt such a fantastic bike to ride and own.

Lightweight Performance

Giant has worked hard to make the Revolt Advanced range as light as possible. These bikes are constructed from high-grade full composite/carbon frames and have new geometry to increase efficiency and performance.

These bikes have a shorter wheelbase and a reduced fork trail - making the bike feel lively and responsive across all conditions that Giant expect this bike to face. Further updates for this year include a more extended reach twinned with a steeper head angle. The bottom bracket has also been lowered.

These bikes are laser-focused on speed and agility across all road and dirt conditions. They handle loose surfaces well, and the Revolt Advanced models react particularly well to those final hard sprints.

Full Composite Fork

The Advanced Range has a full carbon composite fork. These forks are lightweight and have an overdrive tapered steerer tube to absorb road shock and vibrations. These forks also have clearance for tyres up to 53mm wide.

Integrated Mounts

Although the Revolt Advanced is focused on speed, endurance is still a focus. The Revolt Advanced frames have at least six water bottle mounts: two on the downtube, two on the fork, one on the seat tube, and one on the frame's top tube. Special adapters allow a rack to be mounted.

More Compliant Than Ever

Every new Revolt has a lower seat stay junction and thinner diameter tubes than outgoing models. This improves and increases rear-end compliance while not reducing stiffness. These improvements can be felt most while cornering, sprinting, and climbing.

All models also have a D-Fuse seatpost, which reduces shock and vibrations across off-road terrain. The seat post also has a hidden clamp on the seat tube, allowing an increased flex within this area for greater compliance. D-Fuse technology can also be found across the handlebars, designed to work with the seat post to maximise compliance at these two vital contact points.

Flip Chip Adjustability

The Flip Chip dropout found on the Revolt range is among the best flip chip technologies we have seen. A quick and simple adjustment on the new Revolt allows the bike to be tuned into exactly how and what terrain you are riding.

The two-position flip chip is located on the bike's rear dropout and changes the wheelbase and rear-wheel tyre clearance. The two positions used are the short position and long position - in the short position, you have clearance for tyres up to 45mm and in the long position, you have clearance for a rear tyre of 53mm.

The short position gives the bike a quicker, more agile and playful ride quality. We think this position is best for mixed terrain when riding across paved roads and gravel. It’s the position to use when looking for speed, efficiency and maximum responsive handling.

The longer position extends the bike's wheelbase and increases stability levels for riding across more rugged off-road terrain. As mentioned, this position allows you to use a larger rear tyre for increased traction and control.
