Bottom Brackets
A Press fit Bottom Bracket uses a simple bore in the bracket, with no internal threading. This is fitted by the bearing being slightly larger than the bore in the frame, the bracket is then pressed into the frame creating what is called an ‘interference fit’ this has multiple beneifts to the riders, including reduced weight, as the bracket does not need to be in a metal carrier. Larger bearings can also be used which increase the stiffness of the bike, and these press fit bottom brackets also provide a reliable seal - free of leaks, when installed correctly.
At Westbrook Cycles, we stock and supply a great range of press fit bottom brackets, which are available to buy online.
