Pedals
Clipless Pedals are the most common, and the most popular types of road bike pedals that we supply here at Westbrook Cycles. The reasons that these pedals are so popular is simple, because the pedal is attached to the cyclists shoe - no power is lost during pedalling, and the cyclist benefits from power generated not only from the down pedal, but also the up stroke. The result of this is a more efficient, and quicker journey.
One of the key functions of a clipless pedal, is the ability for the pedal to provide float. Float can be described as the amount of horizontal movement allowed by the pedal, allowing the cyclist to move the foot from side to side when pedalling, allowing a greater freedom of movement - and minimising risk of injury and fatigue of the knees.
You can view the full range of clipless road bike pedals here, and as always - if you have any questions about the range, please do just get in touch and we will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.
