Castelli Estremo Gloves Review
At Westbrook Cycles, we stock and supply a large range of Castelli clothing and accessories - including the complete range of Castelli Gloves. One of the warmest, and most popular gloves within the collection are the Castelli Estremo Winter Gloves.
These gloves provide the ideal for winter gloves for every ride - these gloves are capable of handling the very coldest of temperatures, whilst being thin enough to retrain grip and control The gloves are lightweight and very comfortable, the fleece lining on the inside of the glove feels nice on the hands, and these gloves are also windproof - these gloves punch well above their sensible price tag.
In this post, we look at the Estremo Gloves in greater detail, discussing the pros & cons of this glove type.
Firstly, the glove is rated by Castelli to operate best in -5 degrees celsius up to 5 degrees celsius. This temperature rating means that these gloves can easily handle a British winter.
Sizes are accurate, and there are XS sizes running up to XXL sizes. The materials used in these gloves is what makes them a great choice, they provide warmth and protection from the elements - without uncomfortable bulk. The top of the glove and the cuff of the glove is Goretex Infinium, this material used to be called Gore Tex Windstopper, as well as being windproof - this material is also water resistant.
When looking at and wearing the glove, you can see and feel a long cuff. This cuff has a velcro close to provide maximum levels of adjustment and comfort. The long cuff allows the wrist and the lower arm to be protected from the weather, and the velcro adjustment means that it can be worn and secured underneath a jersey or jacket. The cuff is also lined with the same fleece that the glove is, so it’s comfortable and luxurious.
If you flip the glove on it’s back, the palm of the glove is covered with a silicone print - which provides excellent levels of grip and protection. There’s also a suede thumb panel for cleaning cycling glasses. The design of the glove also encompasses shaping which supports how the gloves are worn. On the bike, the gloves feel great and very warm - hands and fingers remain warm in any weather conditions - and are also breathable enough to provide temperature control inside the glove, so you never feel your hands burning up as you ride harder.
We have currently discounted the Estremo Gloves down from their £100 RRP whilst stocks last.
