Sram
Red
The Sram Red groupset sets the benchmark for road bikes, offering the very best performance with a no-compromise approach to design and manufacture. This is the level that is used by the pros in countless tours, made commercially available to help you put together your dream bike. Over the years many improvements have been made, but one thing remains constant; Sram Red represents the best Sram can offer.
The Sram Red groupset was introduced in 2007, and redefined what was possible for transmission components. Smooth, precise shifting, is provided in an ultra-lightweight drivetrain, with light, powerful calliper brakes. This remained the pinnacle until 2015, where Sram Red eTap was introduced, which later became the current Sram Red AXS. This new range took all of the characteristics of its predecessors, and coupled it with their brand new technology; wireless shifting. The Sram Red AXS continues to offer the very best in shifting performance, but now offers all of the benefits of an electronic transmission, such as improved customisability and the flexibility to change functionality of controllers and add extra shifters.
There is no doubting that the Sram Red groupset isn't for the budget market, but when components come with this level of performance, it becomes obvious that for those wanting the best, this is worth every penny.
