NX
The Sram NX groupset components are designed to make their technology more accessible to riders, while still maintaining a high level of performance. It is mainly aimed at beginner or entry-level riders, but compatibility with Sram's other groupset ranges ensures plenty of upgrade opportunities as riders progress. Sram NX Eagle brings their tried and tested 12 speed drivetrain to this level, which provides a wide range suitable for most trail riding.
The Sram NX derailleur comes equipped with a clutch mechanism to ensure chain retention and improve shifting. The cage-lock system, which users of Sram's other component ranges will be already familiar with, allows riders to easily remove their rear wheel, making trail-side repairs that little bit easier. The Sram NX derailleur isn't as light or quite as durable as some of the other ranges, such as Sram GX, but it still represents excellent value for money.
The Sram NX cassette is 12 speed and comes in a 11-50t ratio. This provides gears easily suited to the vast majority of trails, but also has the benefit of fitting on a standard HG freehub, it doesn't require the XD driver that most other Eagle groupsets rely on. This flexibility makes the Sram NX cassette an ideal option for older bikes, or a way of keeping the cost down when swapping from a Shimano groupset.
