The Giant FastRoad range falls under the category of 'flat bar road bike', which is basically like a hybrid bike, but with more emphasis on the efficiency of a road bike, than the comfort and relaxed position of a hardtail mountain bike. That doesn't mean that the FastRoad is uncomfortable, however, but it does mean that it is fast. This makes the FastRoad an excellent commuter bike, and the ability to add racks and mudguards compounds this. Components throughout the collection are great, with even the entry level Giant FastRoad SL3 benefitting from reliable Shimano drivetrain parts. Giant's puncture protect tyres help to make this a low maintance bike range, which again makes it perfect for commuting.
