Technology has been a part of the bike world for some time now, with riders frequently using GPS systems not only for navigation, but to record their rides on apps such as Strava. More recently, tech has made its way to the indoor cycling sector to try and take the boredom out of riding on a turbo trainer or rollers, with the introduction of smart trainers. Garmin have been a brand at the forefront of technology in cycling from an early time, making their name with their well-known Garmin bike computer range, Edge. These Garmin GPS systems use an app called Garmin Connect to either work on its own collecting and collating the data from you rides, or can be paired with other fitness apps. One of our best selling GPS for bike tracking is the Garmin Edge 1040 Solar system, which as the name suggests, adds a solar recharging functionality to extend your battery life. These Garmin portable GPS systems can also be paired up with the Garmin Varia system, which adds safety to road bike rides by adding a radar to alert the rider to approaching vehicles, as well as automatically adjusting the pattern of the bike light to alert drivers to the rider's presence. As mentioned above, smart trainers are becoming more popular and the Garmin owned Tacx turbo trainer brand caters well for this sector, including Zwift compatible trainers, as well as more traditional bike turbo trainers. Another area that Garmin are a prominent player in is the power meter world, which allows more serious athletes to monitor their power output on the bike and tailor their training accordingly. The Garmin Rally pedal range has seen huge popularity, with the Garmin Rally RS200 being amongst the most sought after of the Garmin Rally family.
