Fox
The Fox brand has a well-earned reputation in mountain bike suspension. Fox forks have a fame for providing incredible quality travel in a lightweight package and Fox suspension is often fitted as standard to bikes due to this prestige.
For years the Fox 36 range has been the suspension fork of choice for enduro and trail riders. The lateral stiffness provided by the 36mm stanchions is appealing to those riding rougher terrain and features like the Grip 2 damper allow the rider to dial in their setup perfectly. Fox 36 forks make an ideal upgrade to those wanting to progress their riding to gnarlier things, but don’t want to change their bike. If your riding sits somewhere mid-way between all out cross country and enduro riding, the Fox 34 provides and excellent compromise of weight and burliness. At the top end of the scale, sits the Fox 40 - there simply isn’t a better fork to deal with anything than man or mother nature can throw at a bike.
Another popular aftermarket upgrade for full suspension mountain bikes are Fox shocks. Depending on your bike and style of riding there are some fantastic choices. The Fox DHX2 represents the pinnacle of gravity orientated shocks, capable of the biggest hucks, drops and sends. For those wanting performance from an air sprung shock rather than a coil, the Fox DPX2 represents the height of trail riding technology. In between the DHX2 and the DPX2 is the Fox Float X2. This allows downhill and long travel enduro riders to use a large volume air can rather than a coil spring to provide the suspension on their rig, but the huge volume means it can cope with the biggest of hits without any issue. As the Float X2 is an air sprung shock, riders can make adjustments a lot easier than with the DHX2 by altering the air pressure, as opposed to having to change the coil.
Fox bike products don’t just start and end with suspension though. The Fox transfer dropper seatpost is an incredibly robust, well designed post that has been praised for its reliability. The Fox dropper post pairs perfectly with their forks and shocks too, as it is available in both a performance black finish and Fox’s famous iconic Kashima coating.
