Bikes
Racing Bikes are the quickest and most exciting kind of road bike that you can be, these bikes are designed to be ridden as fast as possible - and they boast some of the most exciting designs and materials available. Although these bikes are race biased, they are fantastic to ride on the road recreationally, the racing pedigree of these bikes make them ideal for twisty, quick roads riding with friends.
The geometry of race bikes is usually quite easy to identify - racing bike frames have steep angles for the forks and the seat tube. The chainstays are short as are the seat stays - the short head tube also keeps the bars of the bike low, meaning the rider can tuck into an aerodynamic seating position. Racing bikes will also have drop handlebars.
Historically, road race bikes always sacrificed comfort for speed and performance, but in recent years, especially with higher end frame materials such as carbon fibre being used - road race bikes manage to achieve pretty high levels of comfort. As well as carbon fibre race bikes being able to soak up the lumps, bumps and vibrations from uneven road surfaces better – carbon fibre can also be used to create frame geometry in shapes and sizes which cannot be made from traditional frame materials, such as alloy.
