Mountain Bikes
Under £7500
If there’s one thing for sure, it’s the fact that in recent years mountain biking has become a more expensive sport to partake in. As the terrain and off road performance requirements has increased, mountain bike manufacturers have been working hard to provide mountain bikes which can get their riders not only across the roughest of terrain, but also across that rough terrain in the quickest possible timeframe.
At this price point, all but the puritans are jumping on electric mountain bikes, choosing to use the extra budget to purchase a mountain bike with an electric assist motor. Those buying standard mountain bikes around the £7,500 price point, can expect world championship level bikes.
Carbon Fibre is undoubtedly one of the biggest features of mountain bikes within this price bracket. At this price point, you can expect a healthy dose of carbon fibre - including on the frame, wheels, bars and component such as seatposts. The aim of all of this carbon fibre is to assist in handling and ride comfort, but it’s main purpose is to keep the weight of the mountain bike to a minimum, allowing riders to propel themselves as quickly as possible across the ground.
Alongside carbon fibre, also look out for electronic and wireless groupsets, such as the the SRAM GX Eagle AXS Wireless Drivetrain - the benefits of an electronic groupset are well known, and these electronic drivetrains can make all of the different in a competitive field. All other components, including suspension components will be at the very top of the game, with Factory specification suspension being the norm here.
Some of our personal favourite bikes in this range include the Scott Genius 900 Ultimate, the Orbea Rallon M-LTD Full Suspension Mountain Bike and also the Bold Cycles Linkin LT Full Suspension Mountain Bike.
If you are looking for a mountain bike for around the £7,500 price point, it’s likely that you will already know what you are looking for, and what your requirements are from your bike, but if you do have any questions about the right bike for your budget and riding requirements - please do get in touch and we will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.
