Trail
Bikes
At Westbrook Cycles, we stock and supply an excellent range of trail mountain bikes, which have been handpicked from the world’s leading bike brands. In the world of mountain biking, there is so much terminology and buzzwords floating round - it can be difficult to know which type of bike is what you need and want.
Trail Bikes are something we often get asked about, that’s why we have put all of our trail bikes here in one place. Trail Bikes are the ultimate do it all mountain bikes, they are the perfect bike to choose for so many different occasions and purposes, whether it’s a full day out at a trail centre, or just a quick blast around the woods - trail bikes can do it all.
The issue with these do it all bikes, is that bike manufacturers all have very different ideas as to how these bikes should look and perform, meaning there is a huge amount of variety in what a trail bike looks like and how it performs. The reward for choosing a trail bike however, is massive - these ‘go to’ bikes can very quickly become the favourite bike in any collection, and the bike that you instinctively choose when heading out.
The setup of trail bikes is very similar to the setup of enduro bikes - the suspension of a trail bike needs to be robust and big enough to cope with technical descents, but not to the extent in which it prevents progress cross country.
At Westbrook, we only stock and supply bikes that we have full confidence in - so we never supply cheap full suspension bikes that provide poor and often dangerous performance when they are used across off road conditions. Trail bikes that we supply start off in the mid price range, and run up to world champion level trail bikes, packed with the latest technology.
These bikes have frames designed and constructed from a wide variety of materials, with carbon fibre frames being the most expensive, and best choices - for both comfort and weight saving. The suspension travel on Trail Bikes varies from 110-150mm and usually can be adjusted or locked out on the move, depending upon the conditions you are riding on. There are the usual choices of either 27.5 inch wheels or 29 inch wheels depending upon your requirements.
You can view the complete range of trail bikes here, and if you have any questions about the range - please get in touch and we will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. The team here at Westbrook is full of mountain bikers, so we are well placed to be able to recommend the best mountain bike for your requirements.
