Mountain Bikes
One of the most popular bike types at the moment is the Enduro bike. So, what is an enduro bike? These bikes are usually full suspension mountain bikes that have around 160/170mm of travel, both from the suspension forks and rear shock, and they usually use tyres that have aggressive tread patterns and are around 2.4 - 2.6" wide.
The reason the enduro mountain bike is so popular is relatively simple, they excel at downhilling due to their suspension designs, but unlike an actual downhill bike, they can also be pedalled uphill with reasonable efficiency. Enduro MTB has also been popularised by the flourishing race scene, both locally and globally with the likes of the EWS races seeing plenty of coverage from media. As most enduro races feature challenging terrain, a full sus enduro bike is the way to go for the vast majority of riders, with a hardtail enduro MTB being reserved only for riders looking to increase the challenge or hone their skills.
At Westbrook Cycles we have a wide range of enduro MTB bikes available, with The Orbea enduro bike, the Rallon, being amongst the most popular. This bike was featured on the Pinkbike Academy reality TV series and has been widely critically acclaimed. Ransom, the Scott enduro bike, has also been a very popular model in our line-up since it's resurgence in 2019 and one of our newer additions, the Transition enduro bike, Spire, seems set to be another customer favourite.
