Riding a Gravel Bike is unlike riding any other bicycle, it’s a special experience when you can set off, and be confident that you can ride so many different terrains, and ride them all well. There’s no real compromises with a gravel bike and these bikes can handle everything from silky smooth tarmac, to singletrack.

One of the great things about gravel bikes is how simple their design can be, with many riders likening them to the lightweight rigid fork mountain bikes of old, and in a world where all bikes are becoming more complex, a gravel bike under £1,500 is great to ride, but is without a lot of the technologies and features that drive up the price of bikes.

At this price point, there’s a few different variations of a gravel bike - but as the budget increases, to encompass what is here, which can be describe as mid-range gravel bikes, you start to see gravel bikes which are more focussed on speed and efficiency, these bikes have drop handlebars and a quicker, sleeker geometry.

As with almost all gravel bikes, disc brakes are standard - usually hydraulic disc brakes at this level. There’s some carbon fibre framed gravel bikes within this price point, but these are usually the bikes which have been heavily discounted by ourselves, to bring them in and around the £1500 mark.

One of the standout technologies that is seen at this price point and upwards, is a flip chip on the rear dropouts of the bike - changing the wheelbase, allowing for either shorter and snappier handling, or improved stability at speed. This technology is present on the Giant Revolt 1 Gravel Bike. Giant have done really well with their gravel bike designs in recent years, providing a strong offering.

Other standout models from within the range include the Kinesis G2 Gravel Bike, the GT Bicycles Grade Comp and the Scott Speedster Gravel 40. These bikes represent the perfect entry into the world of gravel riding and also make the perfect second bike for many riders, to test the water with gravel bikes, properly.

Above, you can find the complete range of sub £1,500 gravel bikes - if you have any questions about the range, please do get in touch and we will be more than happy to help.
